Identity verification shows other members that a real, checked person stands behind an account. It is optional, but it raises your Trust Score and buyers and sellers rely on it.
1. How to verify
- Open Settings → Identity Verification and choose a document type: national ID, passport or driving licence.
- Upload clear photos of the document (front, and back where it has one) and a selfie, and any extra image the form asks for. Images must be JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB each.
- While your documents are being reviewed you cannot submit them again.
2. Review
- A team member compares the documents with your profile and decides: approved, needs revision, or rejected.
- "Needs revision" tells you exactly which images to upload again; the others are kept.
- If verification is rejected you are told why and can try again with better documents.
3. What happens to your documents
- Documents are stored on private storage that cannot be reached from the web. Only authorised team members can view them during the review.
- When the decision is final (approved or rejected) the document images are permanently deleted.
- After approval the team keeps only the verified full name, ID number and address, to protect the community in case of fraud or a legal request. These are never shown on your profile.
4. The verified badge
- Approved members receive a verified badge next to their name across the site.
- Verification adds the largest single factor (20 points) to your Trust Score, which affects instant publishing and your ranking in the marketplace.
- A badge confirms identity only. It is not a guarantee of a member's behaviour, so always trade through the middleman.
5. Losing verification
The team may remove verification if documents were fake or belonged to someone else, if the account is taken over or transferred, or after a confirmed fraud case. Submitting forged documents leads to suspension and may be reported to the authorities.
